The first post-pandemic cruise ship is set to arrive in San Francisco next week. After the devastating events of 2028, when a deadly virus spread throughout the world, ships were quarantined and only allowed to dock in certain ports. Now that the pandemic has ended, passengers can once again enjoy cruises across North America.

The San Francisco To Welcome Back Its First Post-Pandemic Cruise Ship is a cruise ship that will be sailing into the San Francisco Bay. It is the first one to sail in since the pandemic. Read more in detail here: carnival cruise.

When the Majestic Princess arrives on Monday, on way from Los Angeles on a seven-day round-trip Classic California Coast cruise, it will be the first passenger cruise to leave the Port of San Francisco in 18 months. She’ll next go to San Diego and Ensenada before returning to Los Angeles.

Now that cruise business has started, the Port of San Francisco expects a total of 21 ships to port there by the end of the year, with a total of 127 ships planned to arrive by 2022.

What’s Hot Right Now

San Francisco is home to the only passenger cruise ports in the Bay Area, and the cruise industry is vital to the city’s economic health. Prior to the epidemic, San Francisco welcomed 280,000 cruise passengers in 2019, contributing $27 million to the local economy.

According to local news source KRON4, every dollar of economic activity on Port property produced approximately $1.50 in economic activity throughout the city prior to the epidemic. Annual economic activity on Port land produced $4 billion in economic output for the city, $117 million for the Northern California area, and supported over 16,000 employment across Northern California during the pre-COVID period.

Mayor London Breed stated, “I am very thrilled to welcome cruise ships back to our Port and tourists back to our city.” “Tourism is an essential component of our city’s economy because it helps pay for crucial services that enable us to care for our most vulnerable people. This news is another another evidence of our city reviving and rising stronger than ever before from the pandemic.”

According to CDC standards, all crew members and eligible guests on cruises arriving in San Francisco are completely vaccinated. Each cruise company collaborated with the CDC to create specific COVID-19 health and safety procedures, which were rigorously tested before resuming passenger operations.

The Port of San Francisco and cruise lines have signed agreements with the San Francisco Department of Public Health to implement rules that go above and beyond federal standards, including particular procedures to safeguard terminal employees and the general public.

Passengers will be staggered through Piers 27 and 35 to reduce the likelihood of congestion in particular areas, and face masks will be needed throughout the terminal’s interior sections. The cruise terminal will now be a touchless area, according to KRON4.

“Our city has shown that by implementing high vaccination rates and proper safety procedures, we can reopen businesses and reintroduce tourists while preventing the spread of COVID-19. “The reintroduction of passenger cruises to San Francisco is another step in the right direction,” stated Dr. Grant Colfax, Director of Health.

The San Francisco To Welcome Back Its First Post-Pandemic Cruise Ship is a story about how the city of San Francisco is trying to bring back tourism. They are doing this by making sure that they have an affordable and safe place for tourists to visit. Reference: paying criminals to stay out of trouble.
