As a travel agency, we specialize in helping people maximize their travel experience. Whether it is to attend a conference, or take a nonstop flight, we make sure we understand the needs of the customer and provide the best solution for his or her needs. We have been working with MSC Cruises for a few years now, and as a result, we have been invited to help out with the new protocol to pre-book a room on the MSC Yacht for those who want to go on a cruise.

In a move to ensure safety and comfort for its guests, MSC Cruises has recently adapted its pre-cruise protocol tests. Instead of a one-off checkup, during which health professionals conduct tests on all guests and their baggage, first-time passengers will receive a questionnaire and physical examination and each passenger will be personally assigned a health coach. (Hint: we’ll be doing a test on our blog soon!)

MSC Cruises, which has just completed its first cruise season, has updated its health surveillance protocols. The cruise line is now monitoring for the Zika virus, among other things, according to results of pre-cruise testing.

New health restrictions have been issued by MSC Cruises for cruises leaving from the United States. Royal Caribbean’s rules for cruises departing from Florida are followed by the world’s third-largest cruise operator.

Although the new health standards will not take effect until August 27, 2021, the firm has already begun operations with MSC Meraviglia in Miami, Florida. All visitors aged two and above, regardless of immunization status, must show proof of a negative COVID-19 test starting on that date.

Protocols have been updated as of August 27.

MSC Cruises will depart from US ports with three cruise ships this year: MSC Meraviglia, MSC Divina, and MSC Seashore are three MSC ships.. The cruise line’s new health rules will take effect on August 27 for MSC Meraviglia sailings from Port Miami and MSC Divina sailings from Port Canaveral.

Because health standards are always changing, it’s unknown what health restrictions will be in effect for MSC Seashore sailings in November.

Onboard MSC Cruises’ ships, both vaccinated and unvaccinated passengers will be welcome. Guests who are willing and able to provide evidence of immunization given 14 days prior to their departure date are deemed fully immunized.

Unvaccinated guests are those who have not been vaccinated or who refuse to disclose their vaccination information with the cruise company. At the dock, all visitors, whether fully vaccinated or not, must provide evidence of a negative COVID-19 test.

This may be an RT-PCR test, a negative NAAT, or a negative antigen test for vaccinated visitors. The antigen test is not acceptable for visitors who have not been vaccinated.

The cruise line now also asks all guests to purchase additional insurance, which is mandatory for unvaccinated guests, and optional for vaccinated guests. MSC Cruises’ Travel & COVID-19 Reassurance, which is a lower-tiered insurance, will be provided at no extra charge for guests who are fully vaccinated, including kids under 12 years old. More information on the insurance policies can be found in this pdf.

All passengers must wear a mask when inside the ship at all times, as has been the norm for MSC Cruises, and masks are advised for usage in the ship’s outdoor areas. Vaccinated passengers may go ashore whenever they choose, which is a departure from the cruises that have been operating in Europe.

Except at Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, there will be no free shore time for unvaccinated passengers at any of the ports of call. If guests want to go ashore in any other ports, they must buy a “bubble tour.”

MSC Meraviglia, MSC Divina, and MSC Seashore

This year, guests may select from three MSC cruise ships departing from Florida. The MSC Meraviglia began sailing from PortMiami on August 2. The 4,500-guest ship was constructed in 2015 and has a gross tonnage of 171,598 tons.

She’ll be traveling to the Bahamas on three- and four-night voyages, including a stop at MSC’s own island of Ocean Cay. From September 18, 2021, the ship will also provide seven-night eastern and western Caribbean itineraries.

MSC Divina is MSC Cruises’ third Fantasia-class cruise ship, with a gross tonnage of 139,400 tons. The yacht, which can accommodate 3,502 people, will begin service on September 16 from Port Canaveral, Florida, with seven-night itineraries that include stops at Ocean Cay, Cozumel, and Costa Maya.

MSC Divina will also offer three-night cruises that include stops in Nassau and Ocean Cay, Bahamas. On November 18, MSC Seashore will begin operations out of Miami, Florida. The new ship will go to the Eastern and Western Caribbean, as well as the Bahamas, on seven-night itineraries.

It’s not unusual for cruise lines to update their safety protocols before a ship leaves port, but MSC Cruises has gone above and beyond the usual safety measures by conducting pre-trip medical exams. This is the safety measure that MSC has employed before its ships leave port for its Mediterranean, Asia, Latin America, Asia Pacific, Asia/Australia, Asia/Oceania, Asia/Pacific Asia, Asia/Pacific Asia/Australia, Asia/Pacific Asia/Oceania, Asia/Pacific Asia/Australia, Asia/Pacific Asia/Oceania, Asia/Pacific Asia/Australia, Asia/Pacific Asia/Oceania, Asia/Region Asia, Asia/Region Asia/Australia, Asia/Region Asia/Oceania.
