The MSC Seaside, a new cruise ship that will be the flagship of MSC Cruises, will be named at Ocean Cay in the Bahamas on September 14.
The msc cruises is a cruise ship that will be launched in 2021. It has been named the MSC Seaside, and it will be the first of its kind to be built on an ocean-going platform.
MSC Cruises has announced that its newest flagship, MSC Seashore, will be christened at a ceremony on November 18, 2021, in MSC Marine Reserve Ocean Cay in the Bahamas. This will be the first time a naming ceremony for a cruise ship has taken place on a private island.
Travel advisors and members of the media, as well as important business stakeholders and executives, will attend the event.

The special trip will leave Miami on November 17, providing selected visitors the opportunity to see the new ship for the first time when she departs from the United States. After that, on November 20, Seashore will embark on her first seven-night cruise and begin her North American season. Seashore has been conducting Mediterranean trips since its launch this past summer.
Sophia Loren, like with every new MSC cruise ship, will play the role of Godmother in the naming of the 16th MSC ship. The naming ceremony celebrations will take place both aboard and on the island, including a gala supper, live entertainment, and more.
The ceremony will also mark the official opening of Ocean Cay MSC Marine Reserve, which welcomed cruise passengers in late 2019 and was set to open in summer 2020 before the industry closure. Since its initial inauguration, the island has undergone further renovations and enhancements.

“As a further indication of our commitment to and investment in the U.S. market, we are delighted to have the chance to introduce our newest ship in Miami and celebrate her christening in Ocean Cay,” said Ruben Rodriguez, President of MSC Cruises USA.
“Not only have we expanded our footprint in Florida by now offering two homeports, PortMiami and Port Canaveral, to make our cruises even more accessible, but we’re also elevating the North American guest experience by bringing some of our best and most innovative ships for our North American guests.” It’s no surprise that Ocean Cay will be the focal point of our festivities next month. We can’t wait for more visitors to come and experience for themselves what makes the island so unique.”
Ocean Cay used to be an industrial sand extraction facility until MSC Cruises bought it. The cruise line has restored it to its former glory and turned it into a 64-square-mile marine reserve. The cruise facilities are in keeping with the local environment, and the reserve was established with the goal of restoring marine resources and preserving the current marine species.
Over two miles of white sand beaches, water sports, numerous bars and restaurants, and evening activities including a lighthouse light display, a DJ-led beach party, and a traditional Junkanoo parade are all available to guests.
