Celebrity Cruises has joined the trend of accepting mixed vaccines and details booster shots for guests. This is a step up from traditional carriers who are only willing to accept one type of vaccine, leading to long lines at vaccination centers before cruises depart.

Celebrity Cruises Accepts Mixed Vaccines and Details Booster Shots is a breaking news story about Celebrity Cruises. The article discusses the company’s decision to accept mixed vaccines on board. It also includes information on how to receive boosters shots for those who need them. Read more in detail here: celebrity cruises breaking news.

Celebrity Cruises has taken a significant step forward by announcing that mixed mRNA vaccinated passengers will now be considered completely vaccinated. While combined vaccinations aren’t a big issue for US travelers, combining vaccines is a common practice in many other countries.

Many visitors from countries like Canada and Germany who got mixed mRNA vaccinations are now able to come to the United States and cruise. The issue of mixed vaccines has been a problem for cruise companies, which allow passengers to board in most nations except the United States.

Any combination of WHO-approved vaccines is now accepted by Celebrity Cruises.

Mixed vaccinations have been given to almost four million Canadians, or 10% of the immunized population. The cruise industry successfully lobbied the CDC to put these individuals in the fully vaccinated category. Something that the CDC has now done.

“Individuals who receive any combination of two doses of an FDA approved/authorized or WHO emergency use designated COVID-19 two-dose series are considered fully vaccinated,” the CDC stated earlier this month.

Celebrity Cruises stated that the CDC accepts combination vaccinations including any WHO-approved vaccine for all sailings, including those in the United States and other destinations around the globe. Pfizer, Moderna, Johnson & Johnson, AstraZeneca, Sinovac, and Sinopharm are among the vaccine manufacturers.

The United States was one of the few nations in the world that refused to allow combined vaccines; Barbados, another popular cruise destination, recently altered its policy and now accepts mixed vaccines as well. It allows numerous passengers from Canada, Germany, and other nations across the globe to book a cruise once again.

“While the CDC does not advocate combining vaccination types in a main series,” a CDC spokesperson stated, “we understand that this is becoming more prevalent in other nations and should be recognized for the interpretation of immunization data.”

Vaccine Requirements And Booster Shots

With the CDC’s revised recommendations, the new vaccination requirements for Celebrity Cruises have changed significantly. The FDA will consider reducing the vaccination age to 5 years and older on October 26th, compared to the existing recommendations of 12 years and older.

COVID-19 Vaccine

When planning a trip aboard a Celebrity Cruises ship, there are a few things to bear in mind:

  • Guests who got one Johnson and Johnson vaccination injection, either as a first or second dose, are considered completely immunized with the J&J vaccine.
  • Guests 12 years of age and older must complete a vaccination series with the final dose given at least 14 days before sailing to be considered fully immunized.
  • While the United States currently allows combination vaccinations, this is not the case in every country. Examine the current entrance criteria of the countries to which you want to cruise. In certain ports, you may be required to remain on board.

Booster injections add a layer of complexity to the equation. Guests who have had booster injections will be deemed completely immunized if they have received at least two mRNA vaccinations or two AstraZeneca vaccines given at least 28 days apart, with the latest dosage administered at least 14 days before sailing.

The CDC now accepts combination vaccinations for foreign travel into the United States and cruise ship travel, which will please Celebrity Cruises.

However, the cruise line still has to navigate a labyrinth of testing and vaccination regulations, and the disparities in policy across nations are compounding the problem. At the very least, it makes the typical cruise preparation a bit less pleasant, but it ensures that all passengers are secure aboard.
