Carnival Cruise Line recently changed itineraries for four of its ships. The changes will affect the travel plans of more than 2,000 passengers and require some to cancel or postpone their vacations. Carnival is reportedly offering refunds on certain cruises that were affected by the change in itinerary.

Carnival Cruise Line has announced several schedule modifications that will affect sailings from Charleston, Galveston, Jacksonville, and Port Canaveral in the years 2022 and 2023. The announcement comes after the cruise operator announced many itinerary modifications for three ships in October 2021.
Itinerary Changes on the Carnival Cruise Line
Sunshine at the Carnival, Carnival Temptation, Ecstasy during the Carnival, and Liberty Carnival is a carnival that takes place every year all depart from the Port of Charleston, whereas Carnival Sunshine, Carnival Breeze, and Carnival Ecstasy depart from the Port of Galveston, and Carnival Liberty departs from Port Canaveral.
Carnival Sunshine
Carnival Sunshine features four different itineraries that are rotated over a total of 12 sailings. Cruises sailing from Charleston in 2022 on February 5, 14, 19, March 28, October 29, and 2023 on February 4, 13, and March 4 will only stop at Bimini, Bahamas. Previously, the ship was slated to stop in Nassau and the cruise line’s own island of Half Moon Cay during the 5-day cruises, but those stops would no longer be included.

The Carnival Sunshine’s November 7 sailing will not stop at Half Moon Cay and will instead visit Nassau and Princess Cays. In 2023, only Princess Cays in the Bahamas will be visited on the January 3 and March 23 departures. Carnival Sunshine will visit the ports in a different sequence and at different times on the 10-day Eastern Caribbean trip beginning January 15th.

Since the suspensions began in 2020, the Sunshine-class vessel has been on hold. The ship will return to Charleston on January 13, 2022. The ship is now undergoing its new livery in Cadiz, Spain.
Carnival Breeze
There is just one itinerary modification for the Carnival Breeze, which affects eight sailings from Galveston, Texas. The ship’s five-day Western Caribbean voyages on January 3, 8, 17, February 5, 14, 19, March 14, and October 24 in 2022 will still visit Cozumel and Progreso, Mexico, albeit at different periods.

The Dream-class ship, which is now operating from Galveston, Texas, was the third ship in the fleet to restart operations.
Carnival Ecstasy
Two schedule modifications affect a total of six sailings on the Carnival Ecstasy, which departs from Jacksonville, Florida. The five-day cruises leaving on March 12, 2022, and February 25, 2023, will skip Princess Cays in favor of Bimini in the Bahamas.

The five-day cruises departing on November 28, December 21, and December 26, 2022, as well as February 20, 2023, will now stop in Bimini instead of Half Moon Cay or Princess Cays. Nassau will also be included in the itinerary.
The Fantasy-class cruise ship is presently on hiatus, but will resume service on March 7, 2022, departing Jacksonville.
Carnival Liberty
Two separate itinerary adjustments for Carnival Liberty sailings out of Port Canaveral will affect a total of four sailings. The four-day cruises departing on March 28 and December 26 in 2022 will no longer stop at Princess Cays, instead visiting Bimini and Nassau, which will stay unchanged.

The cruise ship of the Conquest class is still waiting to resume operations. The ship will return to Port Canaveral on February 11, 2022.
The situation is still fluid.
The itinerary adjustments were not explained in the correspondence that was delivered to guests. It might simply be due to port agreements or the fact that there is limited capacity at particular ports as a result of the industry’s continuous itinerary adjustments.

If the port is no longer on the schedule, Carnival Cruise Line will immediately amend or reimburse any shore excursions booked via the cruise line. In the manage booking details section, guests should double-check their itinerary. The sequence of the ports, as well as the arrival and departure timings, may have been changed.
This news comes after the Carnival Miracle’s Hawaii voyage was canceled earlier this month. Due to the ship’s planned dry dock for repair, many Carnival Sunrise voyages have been canceled. In October 2021, adjustments to the Carnival Horizon, Carnival Legend, and Carnival Sunrise itineraries were also announced.
